About this role
  • Supervise the engineering aspects of the project process flow design in support of the project objectives, and in particular monitor contractors process flow design performance and provides advice to ensure Company’s design goals, design philosophy and specifications are achieved;
  • Supports risk management activities such as Design Risk Assessment and HAZOP; provide support to Operations and Commissioning advisors on specialized detail process flow engineering; development of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs); Selection, specification, and inspection of process and process control components;
  • Procurement of process related tagged items including preparation of specifications, bid evaluations, bid tabulations, bid recommendations, etc.; review, evaluate, and advise on process flow simulations, optimization, and feasibility studies; compliance with design methods and safety factors to be used in design of project. Reviews completed design for correctness, compliance, and operability;
  • Advise on operability of the unit or plant for start-up, normal, turndown, and shutdown modes. Reviews or sets design basis for abnormal operating conditions; process flow precommissioning, commissioning, and start-up planning activities; provide Technical support for the Topsides and Pipelines packages as the flow assurance engineer as required;
  • As an SME is expected to have sufficient technical knowledge and awareness of details to be able to recognize when technical problems are developing in the various disciplines, and to initiate appropriate corrective actions, however the SME is asked to seek guidance on areas beyond technical knowledge and manage implantation of solutions;
  • Chair meetings if required to collect and disseminate information pertaining to process flow engineering actions; advise Management in a timely manner where issues are unable to be resolved and may impact the project delivery;
  • Ensure project deliverables and activities associated with all packages are achieved in accordance with the project milestone dates.Report activity progress to management and Package teams;
  • Provide guidance and input during detailed design for the Offshore Packages as required and provide guidance and input into Contractor strategies/procedures to achieve project Integration objectives as required;
  • Participate in Offshore Constructability Reviews, Pre-Start-up Reviews etc.when available.
